Capped liberty head left, the inscription:  title of state in Spanish on the lower arch. The symbol of austral, below - face value, the year of minting.

The austral was the currency of Argentina between 15.06.1985 and  31.12.1991. It was subdivided into 100 centavos. This symbol appeared on all coins issued in this currency (including centavos), to distinguish them from earlier currencies.
