The title of state in Croatian on the upper arch, face value on a background of a flowering linden twig, below - coat of arms.

The modern kuna is subdivided into 100 lipa. The word lipa means "linden (lime) tree".

 Inscriptions along the rim: title of the plant in Croatian, in the center - oak twig, below - the year of minting. 

 The Pedunculate Oak, Quercus robur or Quercus pedunculata, is native to most of Europe.
