The title of state in Croatian on the upper arch, in the centre face value, on a background of a marten running to the right, in the bottom in the centre the state crest between an olive twig and an ear of wheat.

The word 'kuna' means 'marten' in Croatian since it is based on the use of marten pelts as units of value in medieval trading.

Inscription along the rim: title of bird in Croatian, in the center - a nightingale singing towards the left, below - the year of minting.
