 Effigy of King George VI left (in the center, inscription along the rim: abbreviation of "George VI By the Grace of God King of British Empire" in Latin.

George VI (Albert Frederick Arthur George 1895 – 1952) was King of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions from 11 December 1936 until his death. He was the last Emperor of India (until 1947) and the last King of Ireland (until 1949).

Inscriptions along the rim: FIDEI DEFENSOR IMPEROR OF INDIA (Defender the Faith) in Latin, word denomination. In the center: Scottish crest; lion seated atop crown holding sword and scepter divides the year of minting, shields flank.
