Don M. Hidalgo, in full Miguel Gregorio Antonio Ignacio Hidalgo y Costilla Gallaga Mondarte Villaseñor (1753 – 1811) also known as Cura Hidalgo (Priest Hidalgo), was the chief instigator of Mexico's war of independence against Spain.
