Coat of arms in relief on the core. The legend 'The United Mexican States' in Spanish forms the upper semicircle on the ring, oak and laurel branches form the lower semicircle. On the central part the symbols 'N$', and next the number five '5' as face value; on the upper left field the year of minting; on the right field, at the center, the symbol of Mexico's Minting House 'M'. As main motif a stylization from the Aztec Calendar's 'Ring of Snakes'.
