The tolar was the currency of Slovenia from 1991 until the introduction of the euro on December 31, 2006. It was subdivided into 100 stotinov.

In the center: image of bee, on the left - value, on the right - title of bee in Latin.

The Western or European honey bee (Apis mellifera).

As a symbol, the bees' lifestyle mimics that of the human social order - a cooperative, productive social hierarchy.
